MARBLING WORKSHOP

Marbling is a traditional surface design technique in which floating colors are gently shaped on water and then transferred onto paper or other natural surfaces. The process is immediate, tactile, and deeply engaging, allowing participants to experience color, movement, and rhythm in a calm and intuitive way.

One of the strengths of marbling is its flexibility. The workshop can take place almost anywhere — indoors or outdoors — as it requires no electricity and minimal technical setup. This makes it especially suitable for schools, cultural spaces, hotels, and temporary locations.

Marbling is loved by both children and adults. For children, the process is playful, colorful, and accessible, working with acrylic paints that allow for freedom and spontaneity. For adult participants and more in-depth workshops, it is possible to work with traditional ebru paints, made from natural pigments through a complex and time-consuming process. This offers a deeper connection to the historical roots of the technique and a more contemplative experience.

The technique can be adapted to different audiences and settings, from lively group sessions to slow, meditative workshops. Participants can marble not only paper, but also textiles, wood, stone, and other natural materials, each surface offering a different result and character.
